This gorgeous spring wedding was all things elegance and class with vibrant florals adding a pop of color and every detail well thought out! A true joy to capture from start to finish, and if you’ve been following along you will have seen this stunner on my instagram. But today is the one year anniversary of C&D so let’s look at all the little moments that made their day special!

Getting Ready

C & D got ready at The Emily Hotel and with the high ceilings, beautiful lighting, and velvet lounge it was the perfect spot for portraits and details. Their classic and elegant Minted stationary combined with the vibrant, spring florals by Flowers4dreams was absolutely stunning. This gorgeous bridal look is the work of Rare Bird Beauties and her cap sleeve wedding dress with appliqué flowers from Bella Blue Bridal was perfect for this spring day.

First Look

I always recommend having a first look if you are a couple who wants to get posed portraits and family photos finished pre-ceremony (and get to attend cocktail hour!) and C&D’s first look was emotional and heartfelt and I’m so glad they had a moment alone to soak each other in and be present with one another on their wedding morning.

They also exchanged private vows during this time with both of of their parents present. It was intimate and personal and I loved being able to document so many emotional moments.

Portraits

This was a rainy spring day and we chose Union station for portraits in downtown Chicago. This space offers beautiful architecture and fitted perfectly with the classic and elegant theme that C&D wanted for their day.

Ceremony

Ceremony and reception were held at their venue space Ovation in West Town. A family friend officiated their ceremony and they said ‘I Do” between their stunning asymmetrical flower pillars.

Cocktail Hour

Their ceremony flowed seamlessly into cocktail hour while their ceremony space was flipped to become dinner and reception. Their amazing planner team, A Fresh Event, made sure that we had time to slip away during cocktail hour for a few golden hour portraits with the venue’s vintage getaway car and the rain stopped just in time for some magic!

Reception

Dinner was family style at long tables with gorgeous rental details and catered by Big Delicious Planet and C&D were welcomed into their reception with a champagne tower! I absolutely adore this trend and hope it stays forever.

Dance Floor!

After formal dances, C changed into a glitz and glam Made With Love Bridal reception dress and tennis shoes to dance the night away under the disco ball. Best day ever!

“Sarah was incredible to work with! We met with her a few times before our big day and felt comfortable every step of the way. We were worried about having our pictures taken all day, but she made it feel so so natural the whole time. She captured the emotions throughout the day perfectly! We still look at our pictures all the time and I feel like I find a new favorite every time. Love love love ❤️”
